Dicebound Terms of Service

Last updated: October 28, 2026. These terms are between you and Bryant Van Orden, Tooele, Utah ("we", "us"). By signing in, buying, publishing or using the online features you agree to them. Playing offline without an account needs no agreement beyond the open-source and content licences listed in About & legal.

1. Who may use the online features

You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to create an account, use friends and chat, use the online library, buy or sell anything. If you are younger, you may only use the offline game. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

2. The game and AI content

Dicebound is an unofficial product for fifth-edition fantasy tabletop play. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast LLC. Dungeons & Dragons and D&D are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Rules content comes from the System Reference Document 5.1, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (see About & legal for the attribution).

The story, character voices and pictures are generated by AI models. They can be inaccurate, inconsistent, offensive or upsetting, and they are not advice of any kind (medical, legal, financial, safety or otherwise). Use Report in the app to flag AI output that is harmful. The game engine, not the AI, decides dice rolls and hit points.

You are responsible for what you ask the AI to produce and how you use it. Do not use Dicebound, any AI model or image model to produce content that is illegal; sexual content involving minors; content that harasses, threatens, defames or discriminates against people; content meant to deceive or impersonate real people; or anything the licences of the models forbid (the Stable Diffusion CreativeML OpenRAIL-M use restrictions, the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy, and the NVIDIA Open Model License all bind you for the models you download).

3. Your content and our licence to it

You keep ownership of what you create (campaigns, characters, reviews, messages, pictures). When you publish, send or post it through an online feature, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display, transmit and distribute it as needed to run the service, including delivering it to the people you share it with, and, for published campaigns, to the buyers and downloaders. The licence for a published campaign continues for copies already downloaded or bought. You confirm you own or have the rights to everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

AI output you generate is yours to use as far as the law and the model licences allow; we give no promise that it is free of third-party rights or that it can be copyrighted.

4. Community rules

Do not post, send, publish or generate: illegal content; sexual content involving minors (we report it to the authorities); sexual content shown to people who did not ask for it; hate, harassment, bullying, threats; graphic gore or self-harm promotion; other people's copyrighted settings, characters, text or art, or non-SRD material from commercial rule books; personal information of others; spam, scams or malware; attempts to cheat the store, credits or ratings; impersonation. Names, avatars, campaign titles, reviews and chat count as content.

We may remove content and suspend or end accounts without notice for breaking these rules or the law. Players can block and report other players, messages, reviews and campaigns in the app. Campaigns reported by enough qualified players are hidden automatically and reviewed by us. We review reports as soon as we reasonably can, normally within [3] business days; reports about minors are handled first. You can appeal a decision by emailing vanordensolutionsllc@gmail.com.

5. Copyright and takedown (DMCA)

If you think content on Dicebound infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent: [DMCA AGENT NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL], including: your signature, the work, the infringing content (with the listing link), your contact details, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised. We remove infringing content, tell the publisher, and end the accounts of repeat infringers. Publishers may send a counter-notice. [OWNER: register the agent with the US Copyright Office.]

6. Purchases, subscriptions and credits

7. Creator terms (selling campaigns)

These terms apply if you publish a paid campaign or take earnings.

8. Online play and chat

Friends, chat and voice chat connect you with other people. We cannot control what they say. Do not share personal information with people you do not know. You can mute, block and report. Chat pictures are deleted after 90 days. We may review reported messages and content to enforce these terms.

9. Open-source and third-party components

Dicebound includes open-source software and content under their own licences, listed in Settings > About & legal. Downloaded AI models and voices are third-party works under their own licences, which you accept when you download them. Nothing here limits your rights under those licences.

10. Disclaimers and limits of liability

To the extent allowed by law: Dicebound and all AI output are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a purpose, or uninterrupted operation. We are not liable for AI output, for user content or conduct of other players, for loss of data not backed up, or for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and [US$100]. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and consumer rights you have by law). [LAWYER: tailor for consumer law in your target markets.]

11. Changes, termination and law

You can stop using Dicebound and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end the service or your account for violating these terms or the law, with notice where practical. We may update these terms; we will tell you in the app before significant changes take effect, and continued use means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, and disputes go to the courts of the state or federal courts located in Utah, except that consumers keep any mandatory rights under the law of their home country. [LAWYER: consider arbitration and class-action terms for the US.]
